was just thinking. these are some famous people i would like to meet and have a conversation with. i dunno how, i dunno when, but it would be interesting.

been wanting to do this, but so many things have happend over the past few months and it's hard at times to find space to breathe.

two weddings & a funeral

Yaw Eng & Sook Yee got married on the 16th. i had the honour of being bestman, and it was kinda fun. it was fun also being the 'hengtai' as how they called us in Cantonese, where the 'guys' had to go to pick-up the bride on the morning of the wedding, and before the bridegroom could see the bride, the bridesmaids would 'bully' the guys into doing weird things. we had to run around the hotel (on the same floor), eat weird foodstuff, write a poem and sing it out. also had to do pumping. phew. thank God i didnt have to do it. haha... Kenny Cheah did it on behalf. but Yaw Eng had to do some too. and then there was the tea ceremony. and again the tea ceremony. and then the wedding. simple, nice, enjoyable. the dinner was a bit tension coz Anne and myself were the emcees, and we hadnt met much to prepare beforehand. but somehow, i think it was good enough (i hope! :P). we worked well together. it was also nice catching up with the rest who were there.

Jeremy & Melissa got married on the 30th. and i was bestman again along with Melvin. Anyway, Jeremy is a Johnson. so you make the connection.... the wedding was really nice. the church was decorated lovely-ly. the ceremony was simple.... i really shivered a one part when i had to hold on to the rings and pass it on. what if i dropepd it? :P pheww.... that didnt happen. and surprisingly so fast for an Anglican wedding. :P and being in the digital age, thousands (and i mean THOUSANDS) of photos were taken. and it just didnt seem to end.... after the wedding, we headed to the hall to decorate it and rushed through that and was just in time for the dinner. it was really nice seeing all family and friends coming together to decorate and get things done and we didnt have to hire professionals. it was a fun nite, celebrating it with family and close friends. not forgetting the 'super' speech i gave that brought many to tears. one day, will consider posting the speech here. also, the way they organized the speeches, without having an emcee. Kudos to Justin for doing a lot of running around that nite. oh yeah, Justin is a Johnson too...

and then came the funeral. few days later, in the midst of all this happiness. Uncle Michael suddenly passed away. just like that. no sickness, no diseases. he had his afternoon nap. and he didnt wake up. it came as a real shocker to all of us. all the family had to come down again. it was sad to see Aunty Theresa & Adrian alone now... and how they are going to cope. but apparently, this was the way he wanted to 'go'. without any pain or suffering. he will be missed for sure.... happineess and sadness can happen so fast together... sigh...

and then there was the Ipoh wedding dinner and the one in Butterworth. it was one tiring week of travelling and driving and meeting people and being happy and being sad and not knowing what to do.... i really hope to take a short break in November and refect and think about all that has happened.

early Sept also wasnt an easy period with many things going on in my head... and those stuff are still going in my head... :P still dunno what to do yet. have to 'process'.

aiyo.... wat a long post. wanna write more but malas d. will do so another time. hope to get some pics and update soon. its always nice to see wedding pics. everyone usually looks so nice all dressed up.
